During low tides, Big Rock Beach is slim and rocky. And it is pretty much non-existent during high tides. So while Big Rock is considered a public beach, it remains very private, as there is often nowhere for visitors to lounge or walk. In addition, it can be very difficult to find parking in this neighborhood. This also tends to discourages outside visitors.

Big Rock Beach living may not be for everyone. Some buyers may not feel comfortable owning a home that sits on pilings above the surf. Others may be put off by the busy traffic on PCH. But for those who don’t mind these two aspects of living in Big Rock Beach, there is a reward. The homes on this beach offer drop-dead gorgeous views of the stunning Santa Monica Bay and the hypnotic sound of waves crashing onto the sand. Price-wise, homes in this neighborhood start in the low seven figures and go up from there.

There are several restaurants in the area, and other amenities, including shopping and dining options, are just a short drive away.
