The Oaks is a lovely, 24 hour guard gated secure community in Calabasas, California. It is not only a luxury community that is close to the city but it is also one that has amazing security. Within this community, you will find gorgeous homes as well as a variety of features. Some of the main features in the Oaks include a fitness center and gym with updated equipment, a residents lounge, recreational community center, an Olympic sized swimming pool, miles of hiking trails, and even tennis courts. These features make living in the Oaks even more fun throughout the year because many of the facilities can be used no matter the weather or season.

The Oaks is one of the newer gated communities in the Calabasas and Los Angeles area. The majority of the roughly 500 homes within the community were built between 2002 and 2007.  With the exception of some of the earlier homes in the community which were built in the mid to late 1990’s. With such new construction, owners and potential buyers in the area know that they will not have to worry about a lot of updates, upgrades, or repairs for some time unless they wish to complete these on their own. The homes in the community can range in size and price. The homes are usually within the range of 3,500 to 5,500 square feet. The cost of these homes typically starts around the $2 million range. There is a small subset community within The Oaks, which is another gated community amongst itself called ‘The Estates’ comprising of about 50 homes, with larger lots, comprising of custom homes around 10,000 square feet and with prices starting around $5 million. Some of the prices of the homes within this subset community The Estates have been listed at a price over $14 million.

The Oaks is in a great spot of the Calabasas community all the way at the top of Parkway Calabasas. It is close to many of the highly rated schools in the area. Some of these schools include Bay Laurel Elementary School, Round Meadow Elementary School, Welby Way Elementary Charter School, Alice C. Stelle Middle School, Arthur E. Wright Middle School, and Calabasas High School. Because there are so many great schools close by, it is a place where many come to raise their family. In addition to the schools, there are also some great shopping spots and restaurants. The homes typically have their own driveways so there is no problem with parking in the community. This community offers its residents a bit of a slower life than the one that is found closer to Los Angeles. It is a quiet community that many use to seek refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city while still remaining close to everything that Los Angeles has to offer.
