Eastwood Estates is the southern portion of the Corbin Palms subdivision of Woodland Hills. The subdivision includes 287 homes that were designed by mid-Century modern architects Palmer & Krisel. The classic “Eastwood Estates” portion of the subdivision includes 13 homes on Corbin Avenue located close to Los Angeles Pierce College north of the Ventura Freeway.

Some homebuyers may desire other portions of Woodland Hills south of Ventura Blvd. but Eastwood Estates represents a unique part of Southern California’s architectural history and mid-20th-century lifestyles. All of the homes in Eastwood Estates represent a “modernist” vision of future living. The homes were so attractive when built that Disney even featured them in part of an “America the Beautiful” feature at Anaheim Disneyland. Architect William Krisel’s approach set the tone for the majority of modern tract home buildings in the mid-20th century.

Palmer & Krisel’s modernist homes are also a hallmark of Palm Springs, where more than 2,500 of their designs were built in the 1950s. The mid-century architecture and design renaissance has made these glass-walled, open floor plan homes highly desirable. Lot sizes in Eastwood Estates vary from approximately 7,200 square feet to more than 16,000 square feet. Homes range from three to four bedrooms and two to three baths.

Woodland Hills neighborhoods near Pierce College can have a rural feeling, at times reminiscent of Rolling Hills and the Palos Verdes Peninsula, possibly due to the extensive equine programs and livestock located at the college. At the same time, the homes are located near the Ventura Freeway and Ventura Blvd. with ample local shopping, fine dining, and services. Local schools are excellent, particularly Taft High School, which has some of the highest test scores and academic performance in the Los Angeles School District.
