The community was developed in the 1950’s by A.E. Hanson. He was a well known community developer and landscape architect during that time. It was incorporated on October 19, 1961. The entire community and city takes up 1.7 square miles. There are approximately 648 homes within the city. Inside the city are many different amenities including a summer camp for the children, carnivals, parades, and even some barbecues during the summer. All of the city events are added to their city calendar so residents can easily find the information they need. There are three gates that lead into the community and one gate leads directly to an elementary school: Round Meadow Elementary School. Children that attend this school can safely get to the school since it is so close right by the gate.
The city of Hidden Hills is unique in that is provides its residents with the benefits of country life while still living in the city. There are almost 2,000 residents in the city, several of whom are celebrities, and they enjoy the community that offers a rural component. The community is defined by streets without sidewalks or street lights, one traffic signal, and the peace and quiet they are looking for. Additionally, it is known as an equestrian community.
