A highly-desirable, premier neighborhood located south of Irvine Cove and Emerald Bay in North Laguna Beach, Crown Point includes oceanfront luxury estate homes, distinctive oceanview homes, and condominiums. Crown Point residents are west of Pacific Coast Highway and homes are located on a cliff above the beach or within easy walking distance. The entrance to the neighborhood is located between Smithcliffs and The Coves.

Within Crown Point, McKnight Drive includes clifftop homes at the end of the point. “Casa de Punta Corona” means “House of Crown Point” in Spanish. This residence is among several breathtaking estates at the end of the point and is a landmark site once occupied by early Hollywood stars Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks. Many of the homes in this part of Crown Point have architectural features such as terraces and exclusive beach access which can’t be duplicated under current zoning and permitting laws. Located on the point, these homes also have amazing views of the California “Riviera” and Catalina Island.

Other oceanfront streets in Crown Point include Circle Way and Crescent Bay Drive. You will find many different types of ocean view homes along these streets, from newer architectural homes to Mediterranean-inspired clifftop villas. North Laguna Beach is considered one of the most desirable areas, possibly because it is within easy access of Laguna’s downtown “village” and cultural landmarks like the Pageant of the Masters and Sawdust Festival. The area is also close to the Newport Coast and its world-class shopping, dining, and nightlife.

Most estate homes in Crown Point are three to four bedrooms and approximately 3,500 to 4,500 square feet. They are primarily multi-story or split-level residences, with a few single-story homes. A small condominium community is also located in Crown Point which offers 11 condos which are primarily one and two-bedroom units. The homeowner’s association fees are $250 a month for Crown Point Condominiums which includes maintenance, water, and waste disposal.

Homes at Crown Point overlook Crescent Bay and its beach, which is one of the most attractive of Laguna’s coves and beaches. Many of the estate homes have their own beach access. The cove and beach can become inaccessible at high tide, similarly to all of the other covers along South Orange County’s “Riviera” coast. Your estate home at Crown Point may look north toward the Newport Coast or south toward the cove, or in the case of homes on the point, have views in both directions. Watch for the seals on Seal Rock, one of Laguna’s most iconic coastal locations.
