Malibu Park is perfect for homeowners who want to enjoy living in a fairly rural, country-like setting, but also want to be close to the beach in Malibu. This neighbourhood boasts large lots, ranging from approximately a quarter acre to about 12 acres. Some of the larger parcels in this area are used for agricultural purposes, including flower growing, while others are equestrian properties. Malibu Park is also located across from Zuma Beach, so some of its homes offer stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. And because this neighbourhood is located just nine miles west of Malibu’s civic centre, this area is also relatively close to shopping and dining options. In addition, Malibu Park also boasts its own small shopping centre.

Most of the original homes in Malibu Park were single-story ranches that ranged in size from between 1,500 and 2,500 square feet. Although many of these ranch-style homes still remain, others have been replaced with larger houses. Some of these newer structures have two stories and are as large as 8,000 square feet. True to its rural roots, Malibu Park has very few curbs or sidewalks linking one house to another.

Malibu Park is especially popular with those who enjoy spending time in the great outdoors.  To its north lies the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. So, not surprisingly, wildlife, including opossum, skunk, coyote, gophers and rattlesnakes, are fairly common here. Malibu Park is also ideal for horse lovers. It boasts an equestrian centre and direct access to numerous riding trails. Hiking is another popular activity in this neighbourhood. And for water lovers, a quick drive will bring them to the beach where they can enjoy Malibu’s famous surf.

This neighbourhood’s boundary is defined by four shared and interconnected access streets to the Pacific Coast Highway.  These are Bonsall Drive, Morning View Drive, Guernsey Drive and Busch Drive. Homes in this neighbourhood start in the low seven figures and go up from there. For example, in early 2018, a single-story 2000-square-foot home with three bedrooms, two baths sitting on a half-acre was priced at $3,100,000.  During the same time, a 5,700-square-foot property with four bedrooms and six bathrooms that sat on four acres was listed for just under $13 million.
