The Donas are a neighborhood of streets located south of Canton Drive and north of Fryman Road in Studio City which offer spectacular views of the valley. The neighborhood is named after the “Dona” streets which comprise the development. Dona is technically the Spanish name for “lady,” “Doña” with an ñ, or “n-yeh,” but most people in the area pronounce the neighborhood and street names “Donnas.”

Regardless of the pronounciation, the meaning is the same. All of the streets in the Donas are named after Spanish ladies, from Dona Evita to Dona Pegita. The Donas are a neighborhood of more than 600 large single-family homes built in the 1960s. Architectural styles are all open floorplan, mid-Century modernist, and many have extensive yards, landscaping, and amenities. Living in the Donas, you can access the Valley entertainment industry hubs with ease as well as hop over the hill to the city via Laurel Canyon Blvd.

Although the Donas are located in the hills above Ventura Blvd., the streets are wide and easy to navigate. With such a desirable location and home styles, homes in the Donas can be hard to locate. Finding a home in the Donas is an exciting prospect, as you may locate one of the architectural gems located on a double lot with stunning views, an infinity pool, and interior amenities including home theaters, wine cellars, and recording studios.

Every home in the Donas is located within Studio City’s coveted Carpenter Community Charter School District. The elementary school is ranked #1 academically in the Los Angeles School District and ranks 10 out of 10 in Great Schools.net’s scores. Although built during the 60s, not every home in the Donas is a mid-century hip modern glass-walled ranch home. Other architectural choices include Colonial, Mediterranean, and Spanish Revival. The Donas are one of the best choices of residence for discerning buyers seeking equal access to the Valley, the City, and numerous outdoor recreation areas between Studio City, Laurel Canyon, and Beverly Hills.
