Venice is an artistic and vibrant community located in Los Angeles’ covetable Westside. Founded in the early 20th century as a premier oceanfront resort area, Venice or Venice Beach has now emerged as one of the most desirable and laid-back beach towns in LA. The waterfront enclave is known for its canals, shopping districts, beaches, restaurants, and — of course — the famed Venice Boardwalk.

Venice is bordered by the communities of Santa Monica to the northwest; Mar Vista to the northeast; Culver City, Marina del Rey, and Del Rey to the southeast; and Ballona Creek to the south. The Pacific Ocean borders the enticing neighborhood to the west, and the Venice Beach area is widely acclaimed for the eccentric oceanfront promenade and wide stretch of beautiful sandy beach.

Venice is home to numerous shopping districts. One of the most popular is located along Abbot Kinney Boulevard. This trendy destination offers stores, restaurants, nightlife, and art galleries. The aforementioned Venice Boardwalk is comprised of a 2.5-mile pedestrian-only walkway that winds along the beach. A variety of street performers perform on the promenade, and local artisans show their wares. The boardwalk also passes by famous Muscle Beach and numerous sports courts. Also located in the hip community, the Venice Canal Historic District is known for the man-made canals that date back to the city’s original development as the “Venice of America”. A farmers’ market is held every Friday, which adds to Venice’s reputation as an enclave for healthy living.

Venice and Venice Beach real estate varies from seaside bungalows to modern beachfront estates located along the promenade. The community appeals to individuals seeking an easygoing, oceanfront environment in the heart of Los Angeles. Venice is located about two miles from the nearest freeway and only 20 minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
