A variety of street performers perform on the promenade, and local artisans show their wares. The boardwalk also passes by famous Muscle Beach and numerous sports courts. Also located in the hip community, the Venice Canal Historic District is known for the man-made canals that date back to the city’s original development as the “Venice of America”. A farmers’ market is held every Friday, which adds to Venice’s reputation as an enclave for healthy living.
