Named for the roundabout where Windward Avenue and Main Street meet, Venice’s trendy Windward Circle neighborhood is located north of Venice Boulevard and just blocks from the beach. In the 1900s, the bustling community was the original city center and home to a seaside roller coaster. In later years, canals were filled in to make room for automobiles, and the Windward Circle neighborhood was born. While many of the original homes of the early 20th century have now been restored, they still hold historic and eclectic charm that is quintessentially Venice.
Windward Circle real estate consists largely of charming one- to three-bedroom bungalows and slightly larger Craftsman-style homes. The thriving neighborhood also offers of multi-family homes, upscale lofts, and newly constructed contemporary homes. While the lots in Windward Circle are on the small side, the homes pack in a ton of character into a small space. Beautiful restoration and rebuilding have helped make the neighborhood one of Venice’s most desirable.
Windward Circle exudes a true neighborhood feel. Residents enjoy annual block parties, and the public Westminster Off-Leash Dog Park is a huge draw for the neighborhood and surrounding communities. Main Street offers delightful shops, restaurants, and studios, while nearby Abbot Kinney Boulevard offers some of Los Angeles’ trendiest dining and shopping options. Of course, world-famous Venice Beach, the Venice Beach Boardwalk, and Muscle Beach are just blocks away from Windward Circle.
